Irish Coffee

4 cl Irish Blended Whisky
2 Teaspoons of brown sugar
Strong Filter coffee

Lightly whipped cream

Pour brown sugar, jameseon and hot strong coffee in a glass on foot.  Blend until the sugar is desolved. Gently pour the cream on top. Serve with a spoon or a straw.

It should be mention that it is beneficial to have a spoon in the glass when you pour the coffee. The spoon keeps the glass from braking. But remove it before you serve. Irish Coffee should be drunk with a cream moustache.

The History of Irish Coffee

Irish Coffee, Irelands contribution to the worlds most popular cocktails, is against many believ, a rather new idea considering whisky has been drunk for hundreds of years.

The story derives from the time of the first trans atlantic flights in the end of World War II. In Ireland, Shannon Airport outside Limerick became center for all transatlantic aviation. This is where the bartender Joe Sheridan invented the famous drink.

Earlier whisky was often drunk with hot tea, but at this time coffee was the fasion. Joe Sheridan blended coffee and brownsugar with the best whisky, topped it with cream and served in a glass .

Pleased and strengthened customers made sure the recipe was spread across the world.
